The Kusuma Trust believes education is one of the most important driving forces of India’s social and economic development. Despite huge expansion in the country’s formal education system there are still millions of children who do not attend school. Those who do see the inside of a classroom often find themselves in overcrowded rooms, with little or no equipment and very few books.

We believe higher levels of literacy is the key to a thriving society and by providing disadvantaged children with a decent education, we can provide them with a chance to break the perpetuating cycle of poverty in which they are trapped.
