Research projects reflect our strategic focus on promoting educational equality for disadvantaged students, particularly in coalfield communities and in relation to STEM education.

In 2015, we funded research on educational inequality in ‘Breakthrough Britain II’, a report produced by the Centre for Social Justice on factors that impede students from poor backgrounds from achieving their full potential.

Currently, the Universities of York and Nottingham track the progress of students recruited to the Pathways to STEM programme funded by us.
