On 26 November, we awarded a grant of £18,622 to Ambitious About Autism in order to support their work with young people.
The organisation’s work in the Special Educational Needs (SEN) field takes a holistic approach, focusing on employment, education, training and awareness and advocating for systemic change to improve the lifestyles of children with SEN.
Our funding will support their Autism Exchange programme. The programme encourages young people with autism to access work experience by training them in the necessities and intricacies of office life, while also educating and supporting employers who want to facilitate internships for these young people. Our contribution to this programme will help 55 young people with autism to access work experience opportunities, while also supporting the delivery of an “Understanding Autism in the Workplace” training to over 160 professionals.
