Our grant of over £125k to the Bumblebee Conservation Trust (BCT) will help continue their Buzzing in the East End (SE) project. The work will help protect and conserve rare bumblebees in 4 London boroughs: Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich and Lewisham.
The BCT team will gain a better understanding of the distribution and abundance of all bumblebees, especially rare species. They will increase bumblebee-friendly habitat and improve the landscape connectivity of green space for bumblebees. Working with community groups, organisations and volunteers, BCT will help people appreciate and take action for bumblebees.
It’s getting hard out there for bumblebees so we look forward to the progress Buzzing in the East End (SE) can make in supporting bees and the people around them. You can read more about our previous partnership with BCT here.
