We are delighted to award £100,000 to the British Library to fund a major new exhibition on Alexander the Great, one of the ancient world’s most famous figures.
Alexander the Great: The Making of a Myth will be the first exhibition ever to focus exclusively on the myths and legends of Alexander. At the core of the exhibition will be an exclusive selection of original heritage material from 25 countries alongside modern versions of Alexander’s legend in popular fiction, films, music and video games, highlighting the longevity and impact of Alexander to the present day. The British Library will also develop a suite of digital content around the exhibition, such as blogs, animations and videos and a small web space, to support greater access.
The project aims to attract up to 35,000 visitors to the exhibition and engage with thousands through digital content. We wish the exhibition every success!
