We have match-funded donations of £20,000 awarded to Chefs in Schools as part of their Emergency Appeal to ensure that vulnerable children and their families are fed during this challenging time. Chefs In Schools provide hot, healthy and tasty food in schools with a high percentage of free-school meal pupils. With school closures, loss of jobs and other consequences of the current global pandemic, Chefs In Schools sprung into action. The organisation quickly adapted their model to be able to provide weekly food hampers to those likely to experience food hunger during this crisis.
Chefs In Schools set up an appeal to finance their COVID-19 response plan to feed vulnerable families from their partner schools, as well as role out the model to even more schools in and around London. We decided to match-fund this appeal, so that every donation by the public can have twice as much impact and reach more children. We are inspired to see so many organisations step up to the challenge and come together to support society’s vulnerable communities.
