We are delighted to continue our long-standing support for Childline Gibraltar with a grant of £22,000. The grant will go towards training 6 supervisors and 12 newly recruited volunteers in line with Childline UK’s new counselling model helpline training and best practice guidelines.
Childline is a safe space for anyone under 19 who is seeking help and support. They have the option to speak to a counsellor over the phone, by online chat, by WhatsApp or by email. In 2024 Childline Gibraltar received over 800 calls to the Helpline.
Caroline Carter, the Chief Executive of Childline Gibraltar said: “The new upskilling and onboarding training course will enhance the Helpline Team’s skills and significantly improve the quality of the Helpline service we offer to all children and young people. Moreover, it will also allow us to expand the helpline to offer better support to parents, guardians and carers”
