We are happy to support Creative Futures with their ‘My Sound Stories’ project, a new cross-sector music, speech and language digital resource for children who are deaf or hearing impaired, or who have speech, language and communication (SLC) needs. Our £54,300 grant will fund the project from a concept-testing phase through to full launch. It will also increase Creative Futures’ reach to children across the whole of London (in its initial launch phase) and then nationally (phase 2, from 2023).
Collaborating with a parent, children aged 3-7 years will create a personalised story combining different illustrations, sounds, music and voices to bring their story to life. Their ‘Sound Story’ can then be downloaded, treasured and shared with family and friends.
We hope this exciting and innovative resource will build confidence, and support children to create something special and personal.
