As part of our three-year grant of £30,000 to the Gibraltar Philharmonic Society, we are supporting a classical music recital by pianist Alexandra Dovgan, which was held on Tuesday 16 April at the historic Convent Ballroom. At just 17 years old Alexandra Dovgan is recognised as one of the most prodigious piano talents in a generation.

Ernest Gomez MBE, Chairman of the Gibraltar Philharmonic Society, commented: “It is a source of great pride for our Society to welcome for the first time to Gibraltar Alexandra Dovgan, a young but well-established international pianist with such a promising career ahead of her. Her achievements so far speak for themselves and we all look forward with excitement to enjoying her mastery of the piano and the beauty of her music making in the company of our loyal sponsors and supporters. I would like to particularly thank the Kusuma Trust for their generosity on the occasion of their special sponsorship of this concert and for the invaluable work they carry out in our wider community”.

The Gibraltar Philharmonic Society is a registered charity which brings live classical music to the community and provides subsidised tickets for senior citizens, students and school children, with the aim of making classical music accessible to new audiences and young people.
