We are delighted to hear that our partners at the Horniman Museum and Gardens were announced as the winners of The Art Fund’s ‘Museum of the Year’. The award is the world’s largest museum prize with the winners receiving £100,000.

The Musuem was praised by the judging panel for its ‘Reset Agenda’ during the pandemic when they took time to reflect on the climate emergency and Black Lives Matters protests. Their environmental work, that we part funded, included creating a micro-forest in response to air pollution in the local area and the creation of an online Environment Champions Club. They have also tried to reach a more diverse audience by curating the 696 festival, incorporating the black British sounds of the local community through gigs, collaborations, creative showcases and music events.

We’d like to extend our huge congratulations to the Horniman Museum and Gardens for receiving this deserved award. More information about our partnership with the museum can be found here.
