The Futures Forward Leadership Academy is a new initiative in Gibraltar from the Office for the Commissioner for Sustainable Development. Led by the Government of Gibraltar and supported by our grant of £12,500, the Academy will support Gibraltar’s future leaders by encouraging critical thinking, network building and harnessing ideas to promote sustainability development.

Prof. Daniella Tilbury, Commissioner for Sustainable Development and Future Generations said: “the world around us is changing at a rapid pace. The climate emergency, digital innovation, and over the last year, the Covid-19 pandemic have demonstrated the complexity and sheer unpredictability of some of the issues our future leaders will have to overcome. If Gibraltar is to move from being effective to exemplary in navigating these crises, reactivity and short-term problem solving must be replaced by forward thinking, visionary leadership. The Futures Forward: Leadership Academy for Sustainable Development will provide our next generation of leaders with the necessary skills, mindset and network to create real and lasting societal change and influence the way in which Gibraltar engages others on a global level.”

Applications are now being accepted from young professionals from all sectors aged between 20 and 30, who are passionate about making a positive contribution to the local community. You can find out more about the initiative and how to apply here.
