At the end of May, we were so pleased to see the completion of the Kusuma Neolithic Hall at Stonehenge. The Hall is the largest ever replica of a pre-historic building and measures 7m high. This is the culmination of around 9 months of work by about 80 volunteers. It has been constructed using historically authentic methods and is based on archaeological evidence of nearby prehistoric settlements.
This marks a significant milestone in our £1million grant to English Heritage and we look forward to groups beginning to use the space from September 2026. The process of building the Hall has not only been an amazing opportunity for all the volunteers in the skills they have gained, but it has also provided a precise record of a build of this type that can be used to inform other archaeological research in the future.
