Our grant to the Akshaya Patra Foundation UK (TAPF) in May 2020, enabled them to provide 20,000 meals to vulnerable people facing hunger as a result of the covid pandemic. TAPF is a charity providing healthy, balanced meals to the people who need it, here in the UK as well as in India. With our funds, TAPF were able to cook, package and distribute 2,000 hot meals per day over 10 days in Kentish Town, Camden Town, King’s Cross and Trafalgar Square.

Throughout the pandemic, TAPF has seen an increase in need for essentials from vulnerable students, seniors, families with dependents and rough sleepers. Meals prepared with our funding went to support these groups as well as NHS and community workers.

We are very proud of our work with TAPF and were delighted to hear their announcement in October that their work in North London will continue with a purpose-built kitchen that has the capacity to produce 9,000 meals a day.
