We are supporting Universify’s 2020-21 programme, which aims to break down barriers to further education, fostering the belief that university is a place for anyone with academic potential regardless of their background.

Our grant of over £9,900 will cover the costs of 51 Year 10 students (aged 14-15) from London attending a four-day residential programme at an Oxford or Cambridge college during the 2021 Easter holidays. Students will receive small-group revision classes, aspiration-building sessions such as university taster sessions and a careers fair at which they will meet graduates in a range of professions. These activities will help the students to see first-hand some of the benefits of a university degree, as well as supporting them to gain the grades needed to have the best possible options for further education.

The residential element of the programme demystifies the university setting, and helps them to build a peer group of like-minded young people who can raise each other’s motivation and attainment, pushing each other to fulfil their potential.
