Our £9,267 grant to Butterfly Conservation will support their ‘Big City Butterflies’ project in the inner London boroughs. The aim of the programme is to help Londoners discover more about butterflies and moths, improve green spaces, increase insect monitoring, and develop new approaches to urban conservation.

Our grant will enable a series of activities that will include school engagement programmes, community engagement, nature connectors’ sessions, public engagement events, identification and recording workshops, site advice visits and habitat management training workshops. Over the course of the whole project 138 sites will benefit from habitat management, and 660 volunteers will take part.

We wish Butterfly Conservation every success in their mission to create a deeper connection between people and nature, changing the way people use their local greenspaces.
