Our recent grant to Royal Museums Greenwich will go towards their Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) programming, enabling them to create five educational films for their visitors with additional needs.

The grant of £14,730 will fund the creation of films for both aspects of their SEND programme, one which promotes learning through sensory experience, and one which builds employability skills. The two sensory project films will enhance critical thinking, literacy and creative response, while the three social skills and careers support films will help rebuild communication skills after lockdown, and reinforce bridges between formal learning and employment. At least five of the actors starring in the films will be students with special educational needs from London schools.

The funding will also support the creation of other resources for these programmes: lesson plans, call and response songs, and sensory story script skeletons in collaboration with a working group of teachers and inclusive education specialists.
