38% of children in London live in poverty which can have wide-raging consequences on their education outcomes and career success. This is one of the reasons we have awarded a grant of £100,000 to IntoUniversity to help disadvantaged young people gain a place at a higher education establishment or enter the world of work.

With our funding, IntoUniversity can continue their work providing vital academic and pastoral support to at least 12,000 London students (aged 7-18) a year. Our grant aims to support young people from disadvantaged neighbourhoods to attain their chosen aspiration, including further and higher education, employment and work-based training. In 2020/21 66% of IntoUniveristy participants progressed to university compared to 26% of comparable students.

We look forward to learning about the difference that our grant has had on the future prospects of young people in London.
