We have given a grant of £23,500 to the disabled children’s charity KIDS. The grant will renovate several ageing structures at the Lady Allen Adventure Playground in Wandsworth.  The construction of a tripod swing, a wide slide, climbing wall and three treehouses will allow young people with disabilities to engage in a range of play activities, from exhilarating climbing and jumping to soothing rocking and hiding depending on their mood and their needs.  The Lady Allen Playground is a real source of joy for the children who attend, as many are unable to access mainstream playgrounds because of physical, social or financial constraints. KIDS gives them a place to explore their independence and their imaginations, dreaming up new games and making new friends.

The renovations are taking place this month and are expected to be completed in May, after which 133 children and young people aged 5 to 19 will be able to enjoy the rejuvenated playground each year.
