We are pleased to announce that we have granted Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust £92,000 to support the reconfiguration and extension of existing facilities.

The project will create space for a medical retina unit to support the growing numbers of patients with age-related macular degeneration and other diseases that affect the back of the eye. Extending the space will also provide a unique opportunity to develop a self-contained paediatric day care oncology unit to deliver clinical efficiencies and reduce wait times. It is also hoped that this will ensure that children with vulnerable immunity are separated from the risk of infection and create a dedicated space exclusively for children who make frequent visits to the ward.

Last year the Royal Eye Unit and Paediatric Unit cared for over 21,500 patients including 50 children receiving active treatment. We are thrilled to be able to contribute to such important facilities and look forward to hearing about their positive impact for those in need.
