We have awarded a £15,000 grant to Migrants Organise as a contribution towards the recruitment of a full-time Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC) Level 2 Caseworker. The Caseworker will provide high quality specialist advice and accompany 70 refugees and asylum seekers from Afghanistan, currently in temporary hotel accommodation in Earl’s Court, through the system in Kensington and Chelsea.
Our contribution will enable each supported individual to benefit from one-to-one advice and support for up to 12 months and access to emergency and hardship support. Thirty sessions with a volunteer mentor will help develop a personalised plan, whilst receiving emotional and practical support, advice and friendship, and access to 25 group-work sessions including English classes, a women’s group, a sewing group and health, fitness and well-being activities.
