This summer we are supporting Nova New Opportunities with their school holiday activities once again, contributing £20,000 to the delivery of a range of fun and educational sessions for children in Kensington and Chelsea. These activities will take place not just over the six weeks of summer holiday, but throughout next academic year.

This is the second time we have funded Nova’s school holiday programme. Last year, demand for the programme was so high that 265 families took part, rather than the 150 planned. This year, Nova hopes to reach approximately 300 families, giving them the opportunity to learn and grow together. Activities will cover four main themes: health and wellbeing; education and learning; arts and culture; and social, community and play. Sessions will include sports classes and storytelling sessions; mudlarking trips and visits to a city farm; trips to the theatre and visits the seaside. The project will also provide holiday support to young people affected by the Grenfell fire through Nova Youth weekly group projects.

We look forward to seeing young people from west London take advantage of this exciting range of activities, hopefully improve their confidence and wellbeing along the way. More information about our previous partnerships with Nova here and here.
