We have given a £10,000 grant to Nova New Opportunities towards their Summer Holiday project, enabling children and families from Kensington and Chelsea to take part in fun, engaging and educational activities over the summer break. The activities will take place both inside and out of London, with opportunities to explore nature, experience arts and culture, take part in sports, make educational day trips and make new friends.

Lockdown has had an unprecedented impact on Nova’s young people, with many stuck in overcrowded housing for extended periods of time, with reduced school support, lack of structure and greater social isolation. These difficulties are compounded by the lack of green space in Kensington and Chelsea compared to other boroughs, making visits to fun locations around the city and trips out to the countryside all the more valuable.
