We have awarded a grant of nearly £30,000 to The Royal Association for Deaf People to support their Deaf Youth Advance project, which seeks to provide a holistic careers and wellbeing support service to 100 deaf young people in London aged 11-16. In-school workshops and 1:1 support will cover a wide variety of careers and wellbeing topics such as:

     * identifying and discussing career aspirations/options
     * understanding and matching requirements
     * skills or qualifications required for job fields and courses
     * selecting GCSEs; job-market discussion
     * workplace support available for deaf employees and advocacy for accessibility
     * CV preparation
     * application support
     * confidence building
     * financial education

We hope our grant will contribute towards empowering deaf young people to seek and attain their career aspirations, improve wellbeing and remove barriers to achieve equality of opportunity.
