St. John’s Hospice in Westminster provides specialist services for people with life-limiting or long-term health conditions. Their mission is to provide an environment suited to provide holistic care for their patients and their families. We are delighted to support this work with a grant of over £95,000 for the creation of an accessible, therapeutic garden.

The garden site will be renewed with easy to use pathways, new hedges and raised planting beds as well as seating and irrigation systems. The garden will be used for therapeutic sessions and enjoyed by the patients as a place to connect with nature and experience the biodiversity encouraged with local plantings. The garden can provide patients with increased tranquility, improved mood, reduced anxiety and improved pain management among other benefits.

We wish St. John’s Hospice luck with the construction and look forward to the resulting garden space.
