We have awarded a grant of £200,000 to fund the core costs of Teach First, specifically their teacher training programme and their school leadership work throughout London.
Teach First work with schools serving the most disadvantaged young people in England. They currently operate in more than 1,700 schools benefitting around 1,000,000 pupils from low- income backgrounds each year. Since being founded over 20 years ago they have recruited and trained over 16,000 teachers in England.
Our funding will enable them to place over 220 STEM teachers in London schools to reach over 34,000 pupils, and continue their leadership work across London to reach over 42,500 London based pupils.
